This is the main attraction in Melmalayanur and one of the most famous Amman temples in Tamil Nadu. Devotees believe that worshipping Angala Parameswari during Amavasya will remove obstacles, evil forces, and black magic.
Every new moon day, the temple town is flooded with thousands of devotees who stay overnight in and around the temple. The entire village comes alive with: Spiritual chanting and prayers. Offerings of pongal and flowers to the goddess.
These small scenic hills surround the village and offer a serene view of the temple town. While not highly commercialized, they are a great spot for a peaceful morning or evening walk and photography.
